As many of you know, our MD Lynne Rose will be trekking the Great Wall of China in April to support Salisbury District Hospitals Stars Appeal.

Our neighbour and fabulous Salisbury Artisan Baker Henderson’s have created a special bake which they are selling to support her fundraising. Paul Henderson owner and Head Baker wanted to create something unique and decided on a Wild Garlic and Cheddar Shortbread…in the shape of a star! They will be on sale from Monday 25th March for 2 weeks and 50p from each sale will be donated to Lynne’s fundraising along with all monies from plastic bag sales.

Lynne is supporting the charity for a number of reasons but in the main because they have helped care for her family, friends and colleagues for many years. Her trip to China starts on Saturday 27th April and she’ll be away for 10 days.  The trek is physically demanding and as some parts of the Great Wall are restored but many others are ruined and derelict so Lynne and the team of 49 other trekkers will be following the beautiful hills and mountains in remote areas north of Beijing, passing through woodland and farmland as they follow old sections of the wall.

Lynne has raised £8505 so far so is delighted that Paul and the team at Henderson’s have decided to support her. She hopes to reach £9000 before she leaves for China. You can support her on her Just Giving page and also see photos of all of her fundraising efforts and training walks!

Remember, they are only available for 2 weeks so call in to Henderson’s to pick up a tasty treat as well as support your local hospital charity!
