On Friday 19th October Personnel Placements held a Charity Dinner in support of our MD Lynne’s fundraising for The Salisbury District Hospitals Stars Appeal. 52 people joined us at Charter 1227 Restaurant and enjoyed a fabulous 4-course dinner; especially created for us by award-winning chef and owner of Charter 1227 Danny Bozic.

The evening was a great success, with an auction and raffle of prizes donated by local businesses and friends of Personnel Placements. We had such great support from the local, Salisbury community as well as friends and family and along with Danny’s generosity raised an incredible £3100. This brings Lynne’s fundraising total to over £7000!

The Stars Appeal raises money to provide extra facilities, care and equipment at the hospital, over and above that provided by the NHS. The Stars Appeal fund many projects across all wards of the hospital. They focus particularly on cancer, cardiac care, and children, from the dedicated Breast Unit that allows most patients to be seen and diagnosed on the same day to The Benson Suite which provides a private space for local families that sadly see a baby die at the hospital. Currently, they are fundraising for a new MRI scanner.

The Stars Appeal can only do such great work because of people like you supporting people like Lynne, so a huge THANK YOU to everyone who came to support her. We’d also like to thank all the Salisbury businesses who kindly donated gifts for the Salisbury Hamper that we raffled on the evening!

Lynne is trekking the Great Wall of China in April 2019 and has been fundraising this year ahead of the trip. Baking, quizzing, coffee mornings, and donations have helped her raise this fabulous amount and exceed her £5000 target! Lynne says with 6 months to go before the trek, she is aiming to get as close to the £10,000 mark as she can so look out for her next fundraising event!

You can follow her progress and donate on her Just Giving page.
