I'm the Managing Director at Personnel Placements where our ethos is a simple one – we work in partnership and we do that with both our clients and candidates. "It's All About You" 

I have been part of the team at Personnel Placements for 16 years where my current role involves managing and developing the business as well as being "hand-on".  I joined after a career in retail, originally in an interim role but stayed! Originally running a permanent recruitment desk I have also managed temporary recruitment, so wear either hat to support the team when needed!

I like to learn and know “what I am talking about”, so finding out about my clients and candidates by really getting to know them is important to me. Taking the time to ask questions, listen to the answers and then being honest and realistic enables me to manage expectations.

I’m a Volunteer Enterprise Adviser for The Careers & Enterprise Company, the national network set up to inspire and prepare young people for the fast-changing world of work. The Enterprise Adviser Network is a national network that connects schools and colleges with employers and careers programme providers to work together to create meaningful encounters with the world of work for young people. 

I love research and am currently tracing not just my own, but several people’s family histories. It is absolutely addictive and I have found more than 1 skeleton in the family cupboard!

I have been at Personnel Placements for almost 15 years, having started as a temp myself and never left! During the years we have had to adapt and make many changes to reflect the recruitment climate but I am confident our excellent customer service skills and positive approach has help us withstand any difficulties, coupled with the longevity and commitment of the staff members here. 

I run the temp desk providing staff to a variety of different clients; and prefer the pace of temps and enjoy the many challenges this brings but am always happy to assist the perm team when needed! 

When not at PP I can be found spending as much time as possible with my daughter or in my “scruffs” trying my hand at furniture restoration.

I joined the PP team in January 2015 and have now gained two and a half years experience as a Recruitment Consultant. In this short space of time I have gained experience recruiting in multiple industries including accounting, legal, IT and administrative. I am lucky to have such a knowledgeable team around me that are happy to share their expertise as well!

One of my favourite parts of the job is that no day is the same, I love meeting new clients and candidates, building strong relationships and helping great candidates secure their dream jobs. I work on permanent roles but happy to lend a hand on temporary vacancies when needed.

In my spare time, I enjoy being creative, most recently deciding on colour schemes and painting the house varying tones of grey. This year I am trying to turn my hands to gardening, not very successfully so far!

I started at Personnel Placements as their very first Apprentice in 2015, since then I have progressed to Resourcer & Trainee Consultant. My apprenticeship allowed me to gain a Level Three Business Administration Diploma as well as developing my skills and knowledge of the recruitment industry. I hope that with my positive experience of an Apprenticeship I can inspire other to consider starting an Apprenticeship.

My current role involves a lot interaction with candidates, I am usually the first point of contact for all enquires to the office, assisting the consultants with finding suitable candidates. I have just started managing the Industrial Temporary desk and so am now working directly with many of our clients. I am very passionate about my job and I love helping our candidates to find the right role for them.

Learning and developing new skills is very important to me and my role within Personnel Placements allows me to this. I am excited to continue my career within the PP team!

As a Director of Personnel Placements since we opened in 1986 I am delighted to work with a very professional and experienced team of people who provide an excellent service to all of our clients.

In addition to our recruitment services we provide H R advice to a wide range of clients.  My role as an H R specialist is to help keep contracts of employment, policies and procedures up to date and where necessary to work proactively with clients to help manage those everyday personnel issues that challenge us from time to time.  I am here to help.

When I am not working I enjoy sport in particular tennis and golf.  I am a Rotarian and currently a board director of the Salisbury & District Chamber of Commerce and Salisbury Business Improvement District BID. I enjoy giving back to the community and have organised and taken part in a number of funding raising events include a Sky Dive, which I would repeat tomorrow if someone would like to sponsor me!

I enjoy the interaction of meeting candidates face to face which gives us the ability to really make sure we find the right role for them.

We have enjoyed working in Salisbry for almost 30 years and feel we have a real connection with the people here. We know a lot of people and a lot of companies and we genuinely care about the Salisbury community.
