We are looking for a Purchasing Assistant for our client who is based on the outskirts of the town centre. You will be supporting the Senior Procurement Co-ordinator in all day to day purchasing activities.

Duties and Responsibilities as a Purchasing Assistant:

  • Manage component price changes, ensuring best price always
  • Maintain minimum stock levels for all components
  • Process the suggested order report to ensure correct stock levels are maintained
  • Raising, amending and completing purchase orders and work orders
  • Process daily reports and progress for backorders and product received
  • Re-source product where required
  • Work with oversea suppliers and freight forwarders to manage deliveries to site
  • Manage weekly collection from local suppliers
  • Assist with identifying new suppliers, supplier process and supplier audits

Experience and knowledge needed to become a Purchasing Assistant:

  • The successful candidate must have excellent communication skills and attention to detail
  • You must be competent in Outlook, Excel (reporting and updating), Word and PowerPoint
  • Previous office experience is essential
  • Previous purchasing experience and/or worked in a manufacturing environment would be an advantage
  • UK driving licence for occasional supplier visits

In return you will receive between £17000-20500 for this full time (37.5) hour week.
