The final total is in and we have raised an amazing £3044 for the Children’s Unit at Salisbury Hospital.
Dr Chris Anderson & Karen Robinson, Physiotherapist, were kind enough to show us around the Unit and explain how the money will be used to make a difference to children and their families.
Thank you to everyone who donated
The PP Team completed the final Peak on Saturday 19th October. The day started with some rain so wet weather gear needed!
We had a fantastic day and took 4 hours 53 minutes to get to the summit and then back down to Pen-y-pass.
We can't thank all of our supporters enough and in all we have raised over £3000 for the Children’s Ward and Salisbury District Hospital and £575 for the Stable Family Home Trust in Ringwood.
We plan we have a bit of a rest now but are planning a new challenge for 2014!
The Team set off on Friday 18th October to finish what we started back in August. We are travelling up to Wales to conquer the final peak Mount Snowdon.
We'll be taking the Pyg Track up the mountain and the Miners Track down, so maps are at the ready!
The Personnel Placements Team managed to scale both Ben Nevis and Scafell Pike but due to diversions and traffic delays didn't arrive at Snowdon in time to climb. Watch this space for a new date to finish our challenge!
We can't thank everyone enough for all of the support you have given us. So far we have raised just over £2400 for the Stars Appeal and £530 for the Stable Family Home Trust.
What an amazing experience we have had! We travelled to Glasgow on Friday and set off on Saturday to Fort William. Beautiful weather all the way and so started climbing Ben Nevis in glorious sunshine! The views were breath taking and we met such lovely people on the way up....and the way down! Such a sense of achievement when we arrived at the summit! AMAZING.
Scafell Pike was started early on Sunday morning after a long and diverted route from Ben Nevis. A tough climb - with rocky terrain a lot of the way - but we made it! and as we reached the summit the mist lifted! Fabulous effort from everyone!
It's just a week to go before we set off on our 3 Peaks Challenge.
Everyone has been training hard and getting in as much hill walking and cardio exercise as they can over the last few weeks.
We really can't thank all the people who have supported us enough with sponsorship and tips and advice. A special thank you to Sandie, Verity and the team at Afon House Chiropractic Clinic for giving us the once over and our SmartHeart check! Another thank you to Manny Gabri of U Change who spent some time with us in July and gave us some motivational support.
We set off from the Market Square on Friday 23rd at 10am so please come and wave us off if you can!
The Teams only have 4 weeks to go before the start of their "National 3 Peaks Challenge".
We have all of our equipment ready and have stepped up the training to include more hills and cardio excercise.
Next weekend we'll be re walking Lulworth Cove and so hoping it won't be quite as hot as last time.
We can't thank everyone who has sponsored us so far enough - we really appreciate all of your support.
The Teams were training on Sunday - the hottest day of the year so far, but we all managed it!!
Tina from our Ringwood organised a challenging walk around Lulworth Cove - with an ice cream break factored in of course!
Only 7 weeks to go now!

The PP Girls were "waitressing" on Saturday at Sam's Afternoon Tea & Cake.
£427.60 in sponsorship was raised.
They even had special doggie cake for Doug. Thank you to everyone who donated cakes and came to support us on the day!
As you know, we will be 3Peaking in August - climbing the 3 Peaks of Ben Nevis, Scarfell Pike and Snowdon - and we've been looking for a mascot to take with us!
When we train we have a 4 legged companion - Doug the Pug - but sadly he can't come with us on our trip!
Doug the PP Pug will be coming along instead and keeping you up to date with our training and trekking news!

The Team at Personnel Placements are taking part in the National 3 Peaks Challange to raise money for 2 local charities. The Stars Appeal in Salisbury and The Stable Family Home Trust in Ringwood.
We shall be tackling Ben Nevis, Scafell Pike and Snowdon all in just 24hrs over August Bank Holiday Weekend (24th & 25th August 2013).
We have put together a team of 7 walkers – Laura, Lynne, Gill, Tina, David, Georgie and Sam, and 2 drivers – Keith and Russ.
This is going to be a real challenge as none of us have attempted anything like this before, however we have our training plans in place, have been breaking in our walking boots and working on our map reading skills!
Our Salisbury Team have decided to raise money for the Salisbury District Hospital Stars Appeal. The Stars Appeal have been one of our “nominated charities” for some time now, however we now have even more of a reason to support them as Harry, the son of a member of our team at Personnel Placements, has recently been diagnosed with Epilepsy. This has meant regular trips to the Children’s Ward for him and his whole family, and he will require ongoing support from the hospital.
Tina, Dave and Georgie are raising money for the Stable Family Home Trust. This is a local charity based in Bisterne, Ringwood, who are currently renovating their Training Kitchen and are in need of funds to complete the project. The Training Kitchen will provide learning opportunities for up to six people at any one time. They will learn how to prepare a healthy, nutritious meal under the watchful eye of the Trust's peripatetic tutors and will receive training on how to safely handle a wide variety of equipment including hand mixers, food processors, knives, hot pans etc. In addition, there will be training in food hygiene, care of the equipment and working environment. This training will enable some of the service users to cook for themselves and for some it may be an opportunity for them to find paid employment in a commercial kitchen.
We will all be piling into a minibus on Friday 23rd August and begin the long journey up to Scotland. We will have a nice relaxing evening, followed be a hearty breakfast, and begin the challenge on Saturday afternoon. We will hike up to the summit of Ben Nevis and back down again, drive to the Lake District, hike up Scafell Pike and back, then drive down to Wales to hike up to the top of Snowdon and down again, to be finished by Sunday afternoon.
If you would like to show your support and help us to raise funds for our chosen charities, then please dig deep and make a donation. If you are a UK taxpayer, make sure you tick the GiftAid box, as for every £10 you donate, an extra £2.50 can be reclaimed by the charity.
